Pre-Solo Progress Check - Dual

Objective:
The student will perform all required maneuvers while being observed by
instructor who will evaluate and make an objective appraisal of the student's
piloting ability under a test situation. The student shall perform all the
maneuvers with no instructor assistance.
1. Preflight: oil, fuel, sump, tires, systematic.
2. Cockpit management: organization, planning.
3. Starting: checklist, clear, power, oil pressure.
4. Taxi: speed, braking, power, controls.
5. Run-up: position, checklist, power, controls.
6. Takeoff: power, center, airspeed, coordination.
7. Climb out: attitude, airspeed, center, coordination.
8. To practice area: power, heading, altitude, level off.
9. Slow flight: transition, airspeed, altitude, heading.
10. Power-on stalls: clear, attitude, recovery, coordination.
11. Accelerated stalls: clear, attitude, recovery, coordination.
12. Power-off stalls: clear, attitude, recovery, coordination.
13. Spin awareness: coordination, rudder control.
14. Steep turns: roll in, power, altitude, bank, roll out, coordination.
15. Emergency landings: airspeed, checklist, field, altitude, pattern.
16. Rectangular course: altitude, track, coordination.
17. Eights Along a Road: altitude, track, coordination.
18. Eights Across a Road: altitude, track, coordination.
19. S-Turns: altitude, track, coordination.
20. Turns Around a Point: altitude, track, coordination.
21. Remaining in practice area.
22. Return to airport: ATIS, radio, checklist, altitude.
23. Pattern entry: altitude, position, check traffic.
24. Downwind: altitude, position, heading, RPM, radio.
25. Base: power, turn, flaps, airspeed, trim.
26. Final: turn, center, airspeed, stabilized.
27. Slip: control, smoothness, center.
28. Landing: center, spot, contact, rollout, braking.
29. After landing checklist: location, organized, complete.
30. Radio: frequency, volume, terminology, acknowledge.
31. Shutdown: organized, checklist, complete.
Completion Standards:
Altitude +/-100 feet, Heading +/-10 degrees, Airspeed +/-5 knots, ball within 1/2 width, basic understanding of all maneuvers.
